Where it all started
Circa 1978 my Grampa Asa came to pay a visit from his home in Foley, Alabama. He understood that I had some internal drive to build things. He brought some tools and took me to the lumber yard. This particular visit we built a pair of paddles for my boating adventures. I was thrilled and the seed was planted.
Fast forward a couple of years and Grampa Asa was kind enough to pass down his 1967 Delta Rockwall table saw and some other hand tools. Now I could start to scale my efforts and I converted our families 2-car garage into my new workshop.
With my new found tools and workshop I was thirsty to start practicing my craft of working with wood. I copied patterns from Grampa Asa's designs trying to learn how things went together and how I could be just like him, a master craftsman!
